Sterling Pond Hike!

What a wonderful end of the school year field trip!  I was so proud of these students.  Despite the cooler temperatures, wet, slick rocks and blustery June air, every one of them made it to to the pond- even those who had never hiked before!  We even ventured along the Pond trail to the Elephant Head Trail and got a glimpse of the view over in Stowe.  We met muddy terrain, a bit of rain and even snow, but made lasting memories.  What a great day!

SNOW!  In June!!!

I will definitely miss this hardworking crew!  But!  I am also excited to say... HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE!  It is almost here and I wish you wonderfully active, sun filled days and restful nights. Catch the stars when you can and smile into the soft summer rain.  Read on a blanket, play a math game and tell a story by a campfire.  SAVOR EVERY MOMENT and PLEASE....Do NOT be strangers!  Remember, you are loved!

Winter Wellness 2019

We had such an amazing time on the mountain last week!  Some students had never even put on a ski/ snowboard boot before last Monday.  On Friday, I saw students taking the chairlift with ease, linking turns, skiing with control and fluidity and best of all, smiling and encouraging one another.  Students have practiced new skills, learned their way around the village of Smuggler's Notch and for many they have fallen in love with a new sport!   They have been pushed physically, have set, met and exceeded their goals.  It is one of the most exhausting weeks of the school year for students and teachers alike.  I would also say that is one of the best weeks.  I am so proud of all that these students accomplished in just five days!  Here are some shots of the week....
...As always I'm loving my bees so much! But after this week, my heart is even fuller!                                                                                   ❤, Mrs. B

Geo Bee Finalists!

I am so proud to say that the two finalists of the CES 2019 GeoBee were both from the fourth grade and the 4B class!  We had four students take the preliminary test- incredible participation from the very start!  I was so pleased with everyone's enthusiasm, support and encouragement around this geographic fact competition.
Special congratulations to our finalist and 2019 Geo Bee winner!
We are proud of these Geo Bee Participants!

4B can ROUND Numbers!

In Unit 4, students were introduced to why we round and how to round numbers.  We watched this little video clip to help us.  By the end of our place value unit, 4Bers should be able to use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
